MHC Announces Breanne Hancock as Chief Financial Officer
MHC is excited to announce Breanne Hancock as the new Chief Financial Officer at Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC). Hancock is fulfilling the role upon the retirement of Debbie Walker, who has served in this position for over 10 years.
Hancock joined MHC in October of 2024 as the Vice President of Audit. She quickly became a valuable asset to the company and the clear person for this role. “When I met Breanne and hired her as MHC’s VP of Audit, I knew she would be perfect for the CFO role. It was important to me to leave MHC with a qualified, determined, and personable CFO in place. No doubt, Breanne fits that description. I am confident that Breanne will be successful in leading the Finance, Accounting, and Single Family Departments with all the professionalism and skill that the role requires. I wish Breanne and MHC the best in continuing to serve Mississippians in providing safe, affordable housing!” said Debbie Walker.
Hancock is a dynamic leader with experience in external audit, internal audit, and leading state agency teams. Prior to joining MHC, she held several leadership roles at the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), including Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Policy Evaluation, and Director of Internal Audit. As part of MSDH’s senior leadership team, she oversaw the payroll department, led grant compliance efforts, developed policies, authored agreements for federal and state funding, and advised on internal controls.
Hancock also worked in public accounting with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, where she performed financial audits and insurance examinations across multiple states.
Hancock is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. She served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Public Health Association and holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and a Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Hancock and her husband, Brennen, live in Madison, Mississippi, with their son, Colin. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering as a student mentor at Millsaps College.
