Groundbreaking for Jackson’s Historic Capitol Art Lofts
Jackson, MS — Monday marked the groundbreaking for Jackson’s historic Capitol Art Lofts. MHC’s Executive Director, Scott Spivey, spoke alongside Governor Bryant, Senator Blount, Councilwoman Barrett-Simon, Mayor Yarber, William Callihan VP of Chase Bank, and Tom Leonhard President and CEO of HRI Properties.
Mississippi Home Corporation awarded the project $741,000 in tax credits back in 2015. The tax credits provide funds to develop the 31-unit multifamily artist housing apartments; located across from the historic King Edward Hotel in downtown Jackson.
